My education is in the sciences and data analysis - I earned my PhD in Astronomy. However, I spent most of my professional career as a software engineer building eCommerce sites and business automation solutions for small and medium businesses. Most recently, I took a position as an application security engineer, which I am enjoying immensely. To be fair though, I’ve enjoyed all the different kinds of work I’ve done. Apparently I like variety.

Stll, I definitely have a passion for security. The fact that most software engineering students graduate from college without receiving any training on even basic application security still boggles my mind. Given that fact, it surprises me that data breaches aren’t even more common than they already are. As a result, I’m happy to share my experience and knowledge, especially if it helps companies avoidd data breaches.
